Description
Paul O. Beale has been a teacher, writer and stage director for the past 35 years combined. He has also been involved in the production of TV programmes and feature films. All these achievements have a fertile foundation in the immense personal sacrifice and indefatigable work that he did as a young man growing up with a love for the arts. This autobiography is his first and it sets out the journey that Beale has travelled in his first 18 years of his life. It also provides the history of great works such as Unda Mi Nose (Stage play) and Granny Rule, because these two series of stage plays were created from his personal experiences as a boy growing up in South Manchester. The book covers his lack of schooling for two years, his employment on a poultry farm at age 13 and his tumultuous life in Northern Clarendon. Beale grew up in an era when opportunities were hard to come. However, he was able to forge his way to a higher level by a tenacity that is not unknown to many boys and girls who experinced similar predicaments.
